Throttle / Mixture Bracket Suggestions

Rebelflyer

I'm New Here
We’re running an IO-360-M1S paired with a Superior Cold Air Induction Sump and a Precision EX-5VA1 servo. Before committing, we're wondering if anyone has successfully used the Van’s IO-360 Throttle/Mixture Kit with this configuration.

If you've tried it, we'd love to hear how it went—any fitment issues, adjustments, or tips appreciated. Also, are there other throttle/mixture control kits you've preferred over Van’s offering for similar setups?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

Out of the thousands of RVs flying, it’s surprising that no one seems to have used the Van’s IO-360 Throttle/Mixture Kit. Not a single reply—really unexpected to hear nothing at all from this group.

I did not see the original post.

When I purchased my 8 it had a home made bracket for the mixture and throttle. When I started looking at it, it was not going stop to,stop and nothing I did could get it there.

I spoke with, well pretty much anyone that had an IO 360 and nope, no one had that problem.

I finallly had some one sent a photo of their setup and then had an idea of what I needed. I called the folks at Vans and explained what I was having issues with and the guy gave me a part number. He said to talk to,the parts people and explain to them that I had spoken with him, cannot remember his name, and they would make the kit up and get 9ne on the way.

When I finally figured what piece goes is where and this is upside down, I finally got it installed and it works fantastic!

I'm just finished this part of my build, IO-320 Superior cold air sump, Precision servo. I did not use the Vans throttle brackets, instead made my own. I got the dimensions for the bosses on the sump from Aerosport Power, they are at weird angles so be careful. I used the Vans mixture belcrank and hardware and cable bracket, but because of the boss at the front of the sump, I decided to make my own belcrank bracket. The Vans engine cables seem to work, although my mixture cable does not go through the Vans location so it is a little tight but still workable.P6150808 Throttle Bracket Instl 1.JPGP6150811 Mixture Bracket Instl 1.JPG

Hi Terry,

Thanks so much for the photos—really appreciated! If you happen to have any additional shots of your setup, I'd love to see them. Drawings or sketches from when you made your own parts would be especially helpful too.

I'm based in BC as well, at CYXX.

Cheers,
Jeff
