RV-8 in OK

NoSTC

I'm New Here
Hello friends! Some recent life changes have put me on the path of building an airplane. Im still a ways out but while I'm studying and getting smart I'd like to go for a flight in an RV-8. I have my PPL and performance endorsement. I love the -8 but have never flown in one. I kinda think before deciding on a model I should actually go for a ride in one. So if there is anyone in or around the OKC area that would like to take a curious gent for a ride that would be great. As I am trying to build hours to get to instrument training I'd also be willing to fly to your airport if its within 4 hours from OKC.

Just jump:)

I’m finally on my finishing kit (RV8) , hanging engine, and have never sat in one. I did get a 15’min demo flight in a 7.

The air boss got to sit in the back of the 8, and liked the room, comfort.

So tandem sports car for me when solo, happy air boss with together.

And I have never spoken to an RV8 pilot who did not love it.

Building TW time in a J3 now ( also a great plane to own) and will keep both, so I’m covered, fast or slow 😁

We have very different bosses. LOL While mine will probably never get within a hundred feet of any aircraft I own (shy of a twin engine with parachute) she would also think it a rash decision to buy a kit that I've never sat in or flown. I can't imagine I'll discover anything that would sway my decision. But I still have to take a ride in one.

I rode in “Old Blue”, Vans RV 8 demo at OSH in about 97 with Mike Seager. Ordered my tail kit for the 8 shortly thereafter. I went the entire super slo build of 11 years and never rode in another RV. Fortunately my “Boss” was ok with it. No regrets on my part.
