Rv 10 bulkhead

Rv10 has a service bulletin 08-6-1 back in June of 2008 question has anybody found any cracks in a bulkhead other than the factory plane?

Same question. Mine has 900+ hours on the airframe, no cracks. I will install the doublers, I have them coming from Vans, but I am curious if any other early 10 without the doublers has had the tail bulkhead crack. Somebody said the Vans demo plane encountered severe turbulence.

Interesting that there were no replies in a month. In our case, 08-6-1 was published 2 months after first flight. We’ve been inspecting ever since, with 1744hrs with no cracks. The inspection technology has improved a lot since 2008 and with excellent borescopes available at a reasonable cost, we have A LOT of clear photos of both sides of the bulkhead.

I just finished the doubler installation. It was a ton of work for me, a non builder, but I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I too have learned of no other 10’s that had any bulkhead cracks or buckling, but I do believe there were relatively few 10 kits sent before the doublers became part of the normal kit, so maybe the sample size is tiny and maybe most owners installed the doublers like me. We may never know …
