Steve, I, and the staff of Aircraft Specialty Flightlines, have been working on our revised exhibit, some of which started last August. Expanded footprint for a few more products to show. We are looking forward to seeing everyone! Like the past several years, we're at booths 947-949 in the ultralight area just before Tall Pines Cafe.

How is camp site paid for?, what I see says this can't be done yet.

I want to stay in a tent HBC, thought I read one pays for this after landing.
I've purchased tickets and practiced some slow flight and tight patterns.
Purchased a tent and put it through a trial run (leaving cot behind)
I plan to go quite early and try to stay for the whole show.
Signed up for the electrical/avionics two day class.
Building a list of things to learn about.
First timer.

We used to camp in HBC, but now we’re at a private campsite called Sleepy Hollow adjacent to the airport. Aircraft camping (HBC, VAC, and GAC) is as you say. You pay when you register, which for HBC is at Homebuilt HQ on the flight line. You’ll pay for the whole week and get reimbursed for the days you don’t use if you leave early.

Give the Welcome Wagon a call after you’ve tied down and we can run you over to registration.

Also there’s a few social events you might want to check out. On Sunday the 20th, there’s typically an RV-10 dinner at SoS Bros hosted by builder Martin Renschler and also a Beer tasting/exchange at the HBC pavilion. Unfortunately they both occur more or simultaneously. Then on Monday the 21st there’s the RV Beer Social at one of the houses right outside the Waukau gate next to HBC. There will be plenty of posts here on VAF about these events as Osh grows closer. There are more but these are very RV centric..

I (Fairings-etc) will have a booth & will-call in hangar B booth 2098. Come one, come all! Come check out what we have to offer and meet the guy behind the posts and voice behind the telephone. 😊

I will have a full stock of parts and highly recommend folks pre-buying so you can save on shipping and we can build stock as needed to have plenty of fairings, jack points etc etc for everyone.

As always, I will have some show specials and some more info on the recent company acquisition(s). ;)

Looking forward to meeting everyone,
Dan

you just pitch tent next to A/C, the rest is easy...just ask one of us 'ol timers and we usually have the right answers...😁

Remindr: FAA has a hypoxia training program. I fly w oxygen, but never got a chance to experience my own symptoms due to program being over subscribed. I recommend everyone doing this if using o2. Maybe the faa can prioritize those who fly w o2?

Be there first thing in the morning when they open the door the earlier in the week the better. Take your medical.

They were not at Sun 'N Fun this year due to budget cuts.

We have always been there for the beginning of the week, we are going this year on Thursday - Sunday (work) We will have to figure out new things to do, any tips?

email sent
For first timers be sure to get the Notam and print the cards for parking. The most difficult runway configuration is landing runways 18. This is a VERY tight base leg to remain clear of 27. The base to final turn will be much lower than most are used to unless you're an ag pilot

If you have a passenger or co-pilot, I always ask them to make sure I maintain a certain airspeed in the turn to final. In my case Judie doesn’t say anything unless I get below 70 knots. I keep my head outside, focused on traffic and the touchdown spot. It helps a lot. Don’t sit on your signs, a friend did that and it took him a while to get them out!

Fred you need to put in a AoA system, lets you keep your head out and beeps at you when getting slow, also "Judie doesn't say anything" does not compute :ROFLMAO:

Looking forward to OSH 25. Got my usual spot at Taylors right next to Sleepy Hollow. Will be flying the newly acquired 10 this year. Also, for the 14 year I'll be flying the Bell 47's on the tours. Fun stuff!!! Can't wait to see everyone.
Sorry to rain on your parade but I love all things Oshkosh with the exception of the endless, annoying drone of Bell 47's overhead for the entire week. Just sayin...

Just curious to where you volunteer at Oshkosh? Occasionally there is somebody who complains about something they really know nothing about. Last year we flew one of the last Tuskegee airmen. I have personally flown a "Make a Wish," child as I was fighting back tears knowing this was his one and only Air Venture. He died a few months later. We have dumped ashes of fellow volunteers and fellow aviators. We fly Air Academy kids all summer long, Many of which will become our next generation of aviators, mechanics and airport managers. I have flown CMH winners, soldiers, and family of those who have passed. So, you are not "raining on my parade," you are raining on the parade of those who have joy on their face and an every lasting memory due to the "annoying drone of the Bell 47's." Just sayin.....

Not raining on your philanthropic activities, all of which I'm sure are quite admirable. Just shared a comment I've heard repeated by many a HBC resident about the Bell 47 laps overhead all week. Out.

Bell 47s that give rides from Pioneer Field near the museum. A very cool ride and the cheapest helicopter ride you will ever find, around $65 if my memory serves me. Makes a circle maybe 10 minutes over the site.
I was making a joke. We have been going to Oshkosh for so long we don’t hear them anymore. If people don’t like the noise from the helicopters, jets, T6’s, whatever, maybe they’re in the wrong place.

Possibly a stupid question but I'm not able to find or download the EAA AirVenture 2025 App on IOS. Is this an ID10T mistake on my part or is the app not available yet.

It’s pretty early for the app, it usually hits the street early July-ish. You can certainly download the NOTAM without it.

I can’t speak for HQ, but things do be running a little closer to the event this year. I was looking for my forum slots online because I hadn’t gotten an email yet, and they aren’t up yet. Usually it seems like I know them by mid-May….but time does compress as you get older….

(I did get my time/place info through direct contact, so they are close to releasing the schedule…I think….)

Thanks for the quick reply. This will be my first AirVenture so I don't know what to expect. Appreciate the info.

Yeah the online schedule usually comes out well before the app. And when the app finally does come out, of course it doesn’t sync with the online schedule from the website… 🤷‍♂️

Does anybody else have problems with buying the weekly ticket? I keep getting the error message. I've tried 2 different cards, that doesn't seem to be the problem

Not what you asked, but I never, ever buy Oshkosh tickets early. They never run out of tickets and things can change on my end...
Absolutely zero reason to buy tickets early. Fly in on whatever day you get there and go buy your tickets then. Too many chances for plans to change between now and then, including weather.

I would buy weekly tickets on the early bird special if
they were 50% off.

Oh, I just woke up.

I have the app already loaded on my iPhone from previous years. It works and is up to date. But if I search the App Store, no, it is not listed. Perhaps a new developer slow on this years version/update. If you had it before you can find in in your iPad/phone in stroge section if not on the screen (unless it was totally was removed)

The app is 'EAA Events', they changed a year or two ago, now the app stays the same name, and the data it works on is updated each year.
