Flightline carpet fit

Greetings:
I'm just looking for a quick reality check to make sure it's not me. The most forward left and right floor carpet pieces from Flightline do not fit particularly well, especially around the heater vent mechanism, right?

It's hard to really tell from the pics, and unfortunately I don't have any great pics of mine...but from what I can see I would say that it is not laying in as neatly as mine did. Are you confident that you're getting the foam pieces nested between the flanges in the floor? Maybe those are misplaced?

I was one of the early 12iS builders with full interior and I had to send Abby photos and dimensions so she could incorporate a cutout around the vent flap. I would have thought she would have incorporate that modification as standard. Same with the cutout around the headphone jacks - not enough clearance for LEMO and aux output plugs. Maybe it's the one for the ULS instead of the iS? Sorry, no photos of mine.

This is one of the earliest iS fuselages and obviously was ordered before the finishing kit, so I assume it's appropriate. I wonder if I just cut away the foam in that spot without cutting the carpet if I can tuck it under? (thinking out loud)

Yes... have done it on several. No need to tuck; the carpet drops down into the void left by the removed foam and give adequate clearance.
