Hangar height opening minimum

Just was notified that a hangar just opened up after being on the waitlist for a number of years. Turns out it is one of the older hangars and I measured the opening height at 8'10". Vans drawing shows an overall height of 8'11" for the RV10. What are folks actually measuring for the plane height and has anyone run into a similar situation and made it work?

Take it. It is easy to accurately position a ramp to raise the nosewheel slightly (and lower the tail) to clear an obstacle like that. You just have to be consistent about alignment and using it every time. Of course, I bet a 30# weight hung from the tail tiedown would be just as effective. But you gotta remember to remove it before flight.

Who would build a hangar with a door that low? Even 172 would have trouble fitting into that. (172 max tail height 8'-9.5", I just looked it up).

Build a ramp. I did it for my 172 to fit into my hangar. Nothing much to it. I can provide pictures next time I’m at my hangar (tomorrow evening) if you would like

Sam - a picture would be great. Thx
Ok. Sorry I was there tonight and just plain forgot (checking VAF is usually a before bed thing for me). I set a reminder in my phone to grab a picture tomorrow. For now, I sent you a PM with a not so great picture of it in the background that was on my phone.

When I did the reinforcement service bulletin on the nose gear my tail came down noticeably. Therefore it may be that there is some difference in tail heights between RV 10s out there.
