We have posted a new version of software for AF-5000 and AF-6600 EFIS screens.

https://www.advancedflightsystems.com/af-5000-software-updates.php

AF-5000 Software: Vx17.00.01-TOUCH

- Improved map drawing
- Support for new Dynon OLED COM Radio

We also just posted a new video on YouTube demonstrating our new Version 17 software flying in the RV-10. We flew from Dietz Airpark to Newport, Oregon doing a RNAV (GPS) RWY 16 approach using the Avidyne IFD-550. After Newport, we flew to Aurora, Oregon and did the RNAV (GPS) RWY 35 approach and a landing back at Dietz Airpark.

This is helpful info -- thank you. In performing the update, I noticed that there was also an update for the SV-XPNDR-261 from 2.13 to 2.15. Can you share what changes are included with that part of the update?

Some versions of the popular IFR6000 transponder test set incorrectly report a failure for Mode S side lobe suppression (SLS) on some TT21/TT22 transponders. This is caused by small variations in the way that the IFR6000 simulates the ground radar signals and is model and serial number dependent. Software version 2.15 improves compatibility with these test sets.

Apologies for digging up an old thread…but I have a question about this video from AFS.

At timestamp 48:54, he mentions a radar altimeter. Can’t locate any info on a product from AFS - or anyone else, except for the GMA-14 from Garmin which is not compatible. This is a fairly new video - perhaps it’s a prototype?

If anyone has information or if AFS sees this, I’d like more info on the system.

Thanks!!

UPDATE - found the www.landingheight.com site and was told by Advanced that it’s the system in the video.
