I replaced the stock (Cleveland) brakes and wheels on my RV-10 with Matco about 18 months ago and have been very happy with them. I had a situation where I needed max braking (prior to that) and came to the conclusion that I wanted more stopping power so based on the recommendation from an A&P friend who also owns a -10, we upgraded the wheels & brakes to Matco. If you look at the surface area of the brake pads for both, it looks like the Matco brakes should have more than double the stopping power. I haven't done any testing before/after but I can definitely see/feel that the brakes are much more effective.
Here are a couple of old threads that discuss the Matco brakes:
My apologies if this has been asked before but I am trying to decide which path to go down for the brake upgrades: If you have gone with Berringer did you do their master cylinders as well or use the stock Vans? Same question but if you went with Matco brakes did you use the Vans master...

:cool:About to order an RV10 kit and wanted some input on the wheels and brakes. Any recommendations on which ones Grove or Beringer? What is the difference?
