WY winters are cold and windy. My uninsulated drafty hangar doesn't retain heat without a glowing dwarf star inside. Recently after pulling the IO-360 for overhaul, I arrived home complaining about the temps in the hangar and wife said: "put your engine in the living room" bless her heart

I found a great deal on 2 engines when I was building so my friend Dave and I bought them. Here they are in my entry before they were re-bagged and preserved until being installed. I have 350 hours on mine now!

I overhauled my first VW engine in the living room of my apartment when I was in college. Getting it back down the stairs from the second floor was interesting. Pivot.....pivot.............PIVOT................No roommate.......

I will join. You may know her as Sweetie. Her name is Diana. She's been my rock for 40 years next June 1st.
She always asks how my day went and genuinely seems interested. She put up with tanks curing and testing in the Great Room. She suggested storing all sorts of parts in the spare bedrooms.
I don't have words. She's pretty awesome.

Dining room table as my winter work surface. Haha You can also see the engine that sat there for a year. My family still reminisces about the engine on Thanksgiving day.
