Elevator fairing tip

I'm New Here
I am currently working a RV 7. I am looking for ideas on how to fit and attach the elevator fairing to the counter weight. The directions say to epoxy to the counter weight but that will leave the surface wider than the HS tip. Any help is appreciated!

I'm not saying his is the only way to do it, but I laid several plies of wet glass around the weight then let the fwd end of the fairing overlap the glass and then filled it it with micro. Here are a couple of in process pictures.

The link to my build log is in my signature block. Feel free to look at it if you think that might help.

I bonded with flox and then finished and rounded the front with micro. Little amounts as to not build up the area then sprayed with primer. Pictures are in my build log. Anymore finishing will be done in paint.
