I’m having difficulty getting my wheels/tires onto the axles. I’ve just replaced the engine mount/landing gear assembly so I have (of course) new axles. (The original engine mount cracked beyond repair). The inner bearing of the wheel hangs up on the axle as soon as it gets past the threaded part of the end of the axle. Its probably twenty five+ years since I installed wheels originally when I built it, and I seem to remember the same issue way back then, but I can’t remember how I resolved it. The inner bushing that sits on the face of the bearing fits the axle just fine. Do I need to polish the axle? Super fine sandpaper until the wheel slides onto the axle? And yes I did grease the axle liberally. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
