If you’d had told me I’d eat Thanksgiving 2024 in a strip mall, I wouldn’t have believed you. But we did. Just Suz and me this year, so we opted to try a local tavern/grill that was putting out a Thanksgiving spread. www.Verfs.com I know what you're thinking…sports bar in a strip mall, and I would think that way too, but this place gets chef awards and has incredible food options. We were lucky enough to get the last two seats. 40 bucks a person and all you can eat in 1.5 hrs. Their first time trying this.
We dressed up and walked in the door at 1100 (our slot) - place already clobbered. Next round comes in 1230. Then one more in the early afternoon and all done. It was PACKED. Many families it turns out had the same idea. It was shockingly good, and my stomach is tight as I type this.
Back home by noon fifteen on the keyboard working out a Friday edition of the VAF News. Like the kids do these days,I took a picture of the food.
The raspberry on that beautiful looking tart fell on the ground. The one mishap.
Wishing you and yours a happy, safe and RV-filled weekend. I’m thankful for the RV community.

You know of course this is a very old thread. Below is a photo of the modified Bogart tow bar for the -10. Just add 2 strips of aluminum at the end. (I used hose clamps, some have welded them). Sitting in the left seat, hold the tow bar with the aluminum strips up. Insert the bar at a 45 deg angle, aluminum strips go over the rudder bar, under the brake pedals. The stick goes thru the bar, where the pipe foam is. Lower the handle against the seat back (seat full back for aft mounted pedals, a couple of Inches forward of that for foreward pedals). Use the lap belt to hold the tow bar handle firmly down, against the seat back. The rudders can now not move. On the left seat, use the seat belt to pull the stick back into the padded V. The elevators and ailerons are now immobilized. PS. Insert the strips into the top of the brake pedals for an emergency brake (I wouldn't count on this long-term).

Cabin Heat Door
Do yourself a big favour and change this adel clamp to a #2. The #3 doesn’t hold the cable housing tight enough and any bump of the cable causes the door to not fully close. After torquing my engine mount bolts I noticed the right door was 1/3 open. I must have rubbed against it and not noticed...

RV-10 Towbar/rudder lock
It has been a while since I have seen or heard of an update on this towbar/rudder lock combo. Anyone heard about NEW items that will be at SnF? I thought a few companies were developing a few specific to the RV10. Any updates or pics of ones you have made would be appreciated! TIM OLSON...

Static Port MU
Confession time. Wasnt paying attention for a moment while installing the upgraded Steinair static ports. Yup, Messed Up and overtightened. Left a little lip around the hole in the side skin. So, MU'd again and decided to flatten out the skin by tapping it with back rivet bucking bars. That...

How to set up cooling for internally regulated alternator? Anyone have reliability issues due to heat?
Hello, I have an RV6a that’s had a plane powered alternator fail at 600 hours. PP thinks this could be heat related. How do other people have their alternators? 1. My alternator has a ram air pressure tube aimed at the front from the builder. The alternator guide suggests aiming this at the...
