I would like assistance with completing SB-00053 and SB-00067 on my RV-12. I'm willing to pay for travel and time spent. Age, lack of flexibility, and weight means I'm unable to crawl into the tail cone. Located at WA29 outside of La Center, WA about 20 miles N. of Portland. Please contact me by PM or text 360 three five six 2263. Thanks, John

I'm a certified LSRM-A and have completed both of these service bulletins on my airplane. I'm not really set up to do work like this as a business, but given a signed contract of some sort, I might be willing to assist in some capacity. Are you trying to find someone willing to sign off on the work, or are you just looking for assistance? I wouldn't want to be involved in signing off on the work due to the potential for liability. I'm not close to you, it would be a commercial flight and a long weekend for me.

The original poster is in need of someone that can fit into the tail cone with the skills and ability to complete these two service bulletins. If you can do that then it appears the OP is willing to compensate you for performing these SBs.

I am clear on that, did you read what I wrote?

I guess I’m not sure what you were trying to clarify then. I’m FAA certified to do this work, and I did this work, and I’m offering to help.
The OP is not looking for someone to "sign off" on work he performed himself. Someone with the skills and ability to climb into the tail cone and complete the service bulletins is what is needed.

I’m clear that he needs physical assistance of someone getting into the tailcone. But if this is an ELSA, he doesn’t need an LSRM-A or an A&P to sign off on the work, he can do that himself. If he has an SLSA, he is going to need either an LSRM-A or an A&P to sign off on the work in addition to physically doing the work. That’s what I’m trying to clarify, because I’m willing to assist with the physical labor because I’ve done it before. But as I am not set up as a business, I am not willing to sign off on the work, even though I am certified to do so. He would need to do that himself, which requires him to be legally allowed to sign off on the work.

it all depends who built the plane?
If it’s ELSA, for this work it won’t matter who built it. He would need his LSRI-A to do a condition inspection but anyone with no qualifications is allowed to do maintenance on experimentals. If it’s SLSA, he needs an A&P or LSRM-A.

I have several people who have responded to my request.. So for now, consider my request as having been met. Thanks. BTW, I do have a LSRI-A for my aircraft and the necessary tools to do and inspect the work performed.

A bit of unsolicited advice, I would strongly recommend the usage of dye penetrant for the inspection for cracks. When I did mine, the dye penetrant revealed an invisible crack that was only just starting, you couldn't even see it.
