I'm looking for the cotter pin part number for the main wheel axle nut. I checked the assembly manual and the Matco manual, both reference pins but don't supply part numbers

The correct cotter pin for the Matco axle is Matco part #MSC.125X2COTTERPIN - COTTER PIN Z/P. http://www.matcomfg.com/COTTERPINZP-idv-3325-35.html

The description is misleading as it is not a .125 cotter pin but, I think, a metric size that is slightly smaller diameter. A 1/8" cotter pin is nearly impossible to put in the hole. The Z/P probably means zinc plated as the pin is silver in appearance.

That is not the correct part number or pin.

The correct part, per MATCO is: MSC.11x2COTTERPIN

As Tony mentioned, a 1/8" pin doesn't want to go in much less thru to secure the axle nut.
Confession: At last inspection I used 2 pins inserted from opposite sides since the Home Depot Aviation aisle didn't have anything to fit.
When I mentioned not having the correct pin down the field at the FBO maintenance hangar and coffee supply shack, Harold the A&P/IA (and D-Day Veteran) turned from his dusty desk in the dusty corner and replied "That's the dumbest excuse I've heard in a while!".
Well...the wheels didn't fall off, but I located and installed the correct pins ASAP.
Lesson Learned!
