GTN 650 space requirements

For planning purposes does anyone know how much room is needed behind the instrument panel for a GTN 650? I have the dimensions from the manual, but how much room is needed for the connectors. Let’s assume there is a vertical wall behind the panel, what is the minimum “depth” to fit one in?

11.27" to the dsub strain relief, give yourself an inch minimum after that? Not sure how many wires you are dealing with.

I think

I think I would give yourself more than an inch past the strain relief; it is a fairly large bundle of wires...

Agree, with emphasis.

I had to make a change to this connector and it is recommended you be able to remove it from the can and manipulate it for pin removal or addition.

I have a 7 and this goes through the subpanel wall.

What airplane are you working with?
