Great pictures all. And it definitely works to motivate. It’s gonna be a while still for me… but will come back here often for inspiration!

Here ya go, Darwin…

I use the GoPro 360 Max for almost all of my shots, great for aviation as you can adjust where it looks after the fact. I actually use a Fat Gecko suction mount with safety tethers in case it fails but thus far it's held at 6 G's and 200KTS! It also allows for a lot of cool mounting spots like the tail facing forward.

Charles,

That is a cool picture, tell us about your camera and the mount

Whiskey Whiskey,
Yessir, my Gen 1 GoPro enclosed in it's protective case and attached to a single wingtip screw has hung in there (literally) thru numerous iterations of G's, excursions in Airspeed limits and even rain, no worries eh...
Like the old Timex watch commercials, "takes a lickin and keeps on tickin"

PS: My former Viper Bros are now allowed to attach GoPro's inside the F16 cockpit, probably good that wasn't allowed for my generation... :)

Oh my...
What is the finish on the vs/hs fairing? Looks like polished aluminum.
Please keep the eye candy coming - I need it.

Escaped the heat for a few days this week up to Arkansas. Back to 110 here in Dallas today.

Missing the good old days

I have been "out of the loop" for the past few years. My occasional visits are a reminder of the great experience of building and flying our RV-7 that we finished in 2012. I got lots of good tips and advice from Doug's forum during the build. I had a wonderful helper, who also happened to be a pilot. The RV-7 has been flying in England for the last few years and is now on its fourth owner.

I know that past, present and future builders are all hoping that Van's will come through the current difficulties in good shape. If you're currently building, keep at it. The rewards are great. If you're contemplating a build, go for it, it will be one of the best experiences you can imagine.

I still have my tools. If I wasn't so dang old, I would be building another one.
