Yesterday, here in Italy we had a special Sunday.
We organized an Airport open day in honor of our ACE Cap. Francesco Volpi, born in 1914. Today, october 13, he's turning 100 years old and he's good, fitted and 'in flight' condition. In fact he did, as Pilot in Command, a flyby in a Caproni CA.100 replica where he earned his wings in 1935.
RV related ? Of course. They asked me to be part of the event with young eagles program, little of smoke and other common Experimental airport bum activities.
For me it's really special because my birthday is today (october,13) together with Capt. Volpi, he's 100 and I'm 50 !
With my favorite hat I was wearing my favorite long sleeve T-shirt: '1964 Warbird' with a phrase on the right leg 'Keep 'em flying'
Of course my bride was with me
