Working with Stainless Steel

I'm trying to work with the flap hinge pins and am looking for ideas on cutting and on bending this stainless steel. Can you all share your techniques/tips here? Thanks!

Cutting -- I use a cutoff wheel in a die grinder (or Dremel) at high speed.

Bending -- I put it in a vise and hit it with a hammer until it's bent the way I want it.

I used a pair of bolt cutters to cut the it. Works like a charm and you'll find a surprising number of other uses for them around the house.

Like cutting bolts. Or chain link fencing. Or heavy gauge wire. Or flap hinge pin.

Bending it? Put the short end in a vise and bend it using the long end as a lever. Alternately, put the short end in a vise and use pliars to bend it.

I put a real nice loop at the end of my flap hinge pins by wrapping the pin around a 3/8-drive socket extension.
