At Airventure 2023, one of the presenters indicated that we should hand brush rivet lines with a stainless steel brush as part of the paint prep. I can see doing that on a used plane and on my gas tanks where I have sealant on the rivets, but is this necessary for a new construction RV-10? Is the thought that one cannot get sandpaper in the dimpled area around a rivet so wire brush the rivet line?

Agree with Mike - a soft Scotchbrite wheel in a die-grinder does a great job..
