wingtip rib orientation

Well Known Member
I'm fitting up the wing tips and I notice the drawings & instructions don't show
the orientation of the ribs W-916 and W-931.

I don't think W-931 matters much but the W-916 lays up next to (or fairly close to) the aileron.

Seems to me the W-931 rib should be orientated so that the tip is "flush" with the wingtip. Am I expaining this right?

Anyway, if anybody has any ideas I'd appreciate some advice.

Dave,

The rib flanges but up against the outside edge of the tip and the inner rib flange points forward (I think, verify this) so you can rivet it.

One word of caution, you might want to install the ailerons, secure them in position, then fit the tip. I found I had to "adjust" my tips, which meant I had to buy new ribs because I had drilled the original ones.
