Wing Tip Prep Process Check

I have the old school tips and have mounted and faired the nav light mounts to them. I used micro to fair them to the tips, and am reasonably pleased with how they came out.

The question is next steps. Should I apply some straight resin for pin hole filling, sand smooth, and then go to K36, or should I go straight to K36? The whole area has been sanded to 80 grit.

Thanks

They're gel coated polyester glass. You may have some surface flaws to fix, but there shouldn't be any significant number of pinholes. The micro used to fair is a different story. You may wish to seal the micro with straight epoxy.

Thanks Dan...it appears I had the order wrong based on the other thread this morning...do the primer first, then the K36

Mark,
You will want to fair the surface using micro fill the pinholes with epoxy, sanding through 180 grit. Then apply the K36...
