Wheel spat doors

I am considering to add wheel spat doors to the main wheel spats rear half. I thought 4x4 inch with a piano hing on the FWD side and a type 5000 Hartwell latch on the AFT side. Very much the same as seen on many oil doors. This is to get easier access to the tire valves.

I know a round hole and an extension is what many builders go for, but would like to know if others have done it and if so, a few pictures would be welcome.
