Wheel fairing scribe lines

Working on wheel fairings. The scribe lines for the wheel opening on the fwd half don’t line up at all with the aft lines. Should I file them to the wider lines? Any advice?
The aft half is trimmed to the scribe lines:

I had to do some sanding on my 7A pants.
A compass will scribe a line if you are slow and steady.
A washer works too if you slide a credit card along while rolling the washer with a marker.

My issue is that to line them up I’ll have to trim way outside (1/4”) the scribe line that is molded on the aft fairing.
One other thing. My front wheel fairings are really tough to mate. I have to apply a lot of pressure just to test fit and the seam is not as clean as the mains.
