I am setting up some new auro/mic jacks. I understand that they must be insulated from the panel using the step washers. The mic jacks have this little "tang" on them that doesn't allow the washer to sit flush. Is there something I am missing?
The tangs are used in non-insulated installations to prevent the socket rotating in the panel. if using the stepped insulating washers you need to file off the tangs or get plain versions of the sockets.
