What are these nutplates for again?

On the RV-10, similar nutplates are used to hold the throttle quadrant in place. don't know about the -12, but it doesn't look that different.
 
They are needed so that the flange of the throttle attachment bracket gets bent back to make it almost impossible to tighten up the nut on the back of the throttle assembly.:mad:
