I have one of the early Vision Microsystems units and just replaced the battery. That's working.
However, my oil pressure reading has been acting up.
When I turn the system on my oil pressure will often read 70psi, with the engine shut off. I performed the checks in the JPI troubleshooting guide - wiring is good, the voltages at the sensor check out. It reads 70psi even with the wiring disconnected from the DPU.
When I start the engine I generally get psi readings, but they seem low.
For those of you whose VM1000 is working properly, does the pressure read 0psi, even with the sensor disconnected? I am wondering if I need to replace the analog to digital chips as mentioned by johnp19 in another thread or if there is a problem with the sensor.
