Vertical stab blind rivets

Just closed up my vertical stab.. When I was installing the blind rivets, the nails broke well inside the rivet, rather than flush with the head.. I was just curious if that is normal? I used 4-3's

I think that's normal.
I can't remember one flush. There's always a hole.

Unless you are shooting cherry max, they do not need to break flush.
