Vernatherm shelf life

We've got an IO-360 angle valve that has a bad vernatherm (oil cooler cool and vernatherm failed the hot oil test). We have a new one available but it's been sitting in the box, on the shelf since 2010. Looks brand new. Anyone know if there would be any shelf life concerns? Can't see why there should be but WDIK. I do have a question into the manufacturer but haven't heard back.

Well I for one would not think twice about puttin-er in and get going and never look back.
Who knows, It may have a shelf life, But, not in my book. Kinda like an oil filter
