Yep
The amphibious Fireboss scoops water from a lake or river while it's on the step.
It takes on 800 gallons in under 10 seconds
and as soon as the pilot hits the "scoops down" button, he has to go to takeoff power since he gains over 6,400 lbs in under 10 seconds with that big 1600 horse PT-6.
There's a youtube video demo of it doing so,

Sounds like a great fish catching device when all the fires are out. Just install a screen in the aft end and bring 'em home for supper.
