Vacuum pump pad and prop governer pad

Since I built my engine myself at Superior I really should know this, but I just can't remember and am too lazy to go look in the manual. I don't have a vacuum pump or a CS prop and likely never will, so can I remove the pads they sit on to save some space and weight? I'd love to hear from anybody who has done this. Thanks.

Many engines have these accessory drives removed. The parts manual will show you the right combination of studs and washer/nuts to use.

If I remember right, you can leave the long studs in but will need to use some tubing over the studs with washers at both ends. See the manual for details.
