Using "Pancake" Drill - Backwards

Probably an old observation but, did you know you can use your "Pancake" (offset) drill in a reverse direction mode? You can drill holes & use a screwdriver in a 180* offset from standard inline, but offset use. Requires a drill with a reversing function - but there are times when such an option can be a big help.

"Pancake" Drill Sizes

Pancake drills come in many sizes - mine is 2 1/4" offset, but they go up to (at least) 5"+, and are even available with 45* offsets perpendicular to the shaft direction (L & R).

Quite pricey, unless you snag a used one on eBay. Some of them come with the drive shank already drilled for use with Magnavon QC chucks.

You don't need them very often, but when you do ...
