Upper FWD fuselage rib mods

I am building my upper FWD fuse assembly. I know some folks have modified the ribs to allow more avionics room. Van's recommended building it as is and waiting until the boxes are at hand before doing any mods.

I seems to me that it will be a lot easier to do now in the construction phase rather than later. I was planning on using the side skin roll angles which are now scrap to reinforce the cutout.

I am planning an all EFIS panel either GRT or Dynon.

Should I mod now or build as designed and take my chances later?

I haven't bought much avionics as yet but I did just that by cutting out and reinforcing the secondary panel in preparation for my avionics and maintenance access after. If you can install your avionics after the plane is mostly built, it will be easy to perform maintenance and upgrades later, well after you are flying.
