Upper baggage door seal chanel nut plates

We are having a lot of trouble installing the rivets in the nutplates on
F1031 Upper Baggage Door Seal Chanel. Does anyone have a solution to this since none of the bucking bars we have fit in there ??

IIRC, the answer is to use pop rivets.

Thanks for that. We are not yet confident enough to go creative with our rivet choices. We tested a pop rivet and it worked fine. We will use them on
the new part we just ordered since we bent the **** outof the first piece.

Consider the stress on the rivet holding a nut plate------all it needs to do is resist the twisting action of the screw, and only long enough for the screw to start generating enough clamping force on the part to hold it from rotating.

Plus, this nut plate is not going to be subjected to repeated screw removal like many of them are.

While a cheap pop rivet should work just fine, I would suggest getting an aviation grade unit.

Order some from Vans when you order the replacement part.
