Tube Valve Core

Due to the toe on the main landing gear the outer edge of the tires get worn while the inner edge is like new. At Annual CI time, which is right now, I "rotate" the tire so that the inner edge becomes the outer edge which requires the inner tube to be deflated almost completely to remove from tire and flip over. I do this by removing the valve stem core. Today, upon replacing the core and filling with air, there is a audible and tactile leak from the valve stem. I've loosened and tightened, tightened and loosened, then re-tightened holding my mouth right but no luck. The leak remains. What did I do wrong? This worked before.

Sounds like you did it right! Possibly you have a piece of dirt or rubber debris either stuck in the threads or in the core (possibly the sealing surface got nicked) itself, if you have a spare core - try it
