Trimming HS Rear Spar

Good Day Folks,

In DWG # 3 it says to "trim HS rear spar to allow for elevator control horns to pivot forward and contact the elevator "down" control stop. (See DWG 27A)). When I go to DWG 27A I don't see anything there indicating to trim the rear spar.

When are we supposed to do this trimming? During the assembly of the HS or later in the build process? If it is during the HS assembly, how much do we trim, as I haven't built the elevator control horns yet to see how much room they need.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm waiting. I've done the emp completely now and I've seen what I need to do. Until I have it mounted on the fuselage and can measure the range of movement, I don't think I can trim with any degree of accuracy.

I use an ugly green highlighter to mark steps I have to do later in the build. I'm not sure if they remind you or not.
