Trim Tab Rib Construction

Flying C

Member
Ok, after reading all the various postings I decided to fabricate ribs for the trim tab end and the elevator end rather than trying to bend the "ears". I purchased 2 E-703's from Vans to construct the ribs instead of trying to bend the "ears". I have a question for though for anyone else that has used this method, I have fabricated the first rib for the trim tab, but there seems to be an interferance between the second hole from the trailing edge for mounting E-717 to the skin and the newly constructed rib. I am pointing to the hole in question using the punch in the photo below. The hole seems to just clip the edge of the rib. Did you encounter this and if so how did you handle it? FYI I am building a 7A. As always Thanks.
