Trim Bellcrank and washers

Hello,

Section 11-9 figure 2

I am finally assembling the elevator trim bellcrank on my RV-10. I do not seem to have enough clearance to insert both AN960-416L thin washers on either side. I can fit one easily on and it rotates freely but the second one on the far side creates a tight fit and does not allow the bellcrank (F-1095B) arm to rotate freely. Can I remove the one thin .032 washer and not have any washer on one side or should I redo the F1095C brackets?

Or better yet, can I just substitute the NAS1149D0416H .016 think washer on both sides?

Thank You.

Ordering WASHER, FLAT AN960PD-416L

These are .016 thick washers in Aluminum. It should do the trick.

I also sent an email to VANs for an official answer.

Final Answer from VANs

To close this thread out, VANs said a thinner set of washers is just fine, but they did not sell them.

Thank You.

I will probably buy the following from Aircraft Spruce

WASHER, FLAT AN960PD-416L 0.016 Aluminum.

Final Answer and ability to assist others

I returned home from a business trip and my parts arrived and they work great? I was able to find: Flat Washers NAS1149F0416P on eBay. These are treated steel like the ones VANs ships but they are .016 thick. I also purchased Aluminum washers from Aircraft Spruce. I bought 100 of each. I wanted and used the steel but bought both anyway. Cheap.

If anyone needs some of these for this purpose , as long and I still have them, I can probable ship them out to you in a letter.

Let me know.

Mike,

I sure would like it, if you would send me a couple. I haven't finished up my elevator trims yet. Sent you a PM with my address. Thanks.

I've got a similar situation, except I can't really even fit a single AN960-416L washer in between. So I'm not sure if the thinner 0.016" ones will work either.

I assume it's not advisable to not put any washers at all.

I've rechecked things and the holes seem to be 7/16" and the 2 brackets seem to be parallel to each other.

Any advise on what I might have done wrong, or what I should do to resolve?

Thanks!
