Toe-in

Installed the main gear and axles today. After the precision check (two blocks of wood and a string) it appears that I have very slight toe-in-- maybe less than the 1/2 deg spacer would correct.
1) is it worth installing $8.00 (each!) spacers before the airplane has been taxied/flown?
2) I assume that you should put spacers on both sides, not 1
3)is a little toe-in better or worse than a little toe-out/
4) whey do we use drilled bolts for the main gear attachment (the largest bolt) and then put a self-locking nut on instead od a castellated nut and pin???
BTW, the info from the forum (LONG bolts) was a big help in installing the gear legs.
