To Jig or not to jig..

If it ever warms up enough for me to prime my HS parts (it has been 5 degrees in Indy the last 2 days) I will be riveting my HS soon. I have seen some sites and people using a jig and some without. What are your thoughts?

The jib was required for the -3, 4, & 6 but the new pre-punched kits don't need it. That said, I did use the stands to hold the HS in place while riveting.

One word of warning...

The first rivet you drive on the HS nose ribs are some of the most difficult ones in the entire kit. I HIGHLY suggest you set the HS aside and build the VS first, then come back to the HS. There isn't much difference but it the VS will give you some good riveting practice, on rivets that are easier to get to.

Best of luck!

Good advice. I started tonight on the VS already. Hopefully the temp in the garage will get above 30...burrrrr
