Time Between Scuff and Prime?

I've followed numerous posts and will prime. My plan:

• mechanical scuff
• Bon Ami rinse/wash/final scuff
• Prime

Is it reasonable to do the mechanical scuff a week (or 2) prior to priming if the Bon Ami rinse/wash/final scuff is < 2 hours from priming?

Use this cleaner (mixed with water): http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/alumiprep.php?clickkey=803132

with this Schotchbrite pads: https://www.amazon.com/3M-07447-Sco...=1500322966&sr=8-8&keywords=scotch+brite+pads

Use a lot of water to rinse. Let dry and prime within 24 hours.

Yes. That's how I do it. Sometimes the time between scuff and final wash/prime is weeks.
Just scrub well with grey scotchbrite and Bon Ami. The Aluminum Oxide wil be removed and leave a water break free surface (Hydrophillic).
