Update on RV-10 Yaw Issue
I checked the breakout force on the nose wheel and sure enough, it was only 13 pounds vs. the recommended 27 pounds. I tightened the castellated nut (MS21025-24) at the bottom of the spindle by only about 20-25 degrees and I was able to get the correct breakout force.
But the issue I now have is that the holes in the spindle no longer line up with the "slots" in the castellated nut. The slots are 60 degrees apart (six of them around the edge of the nut) and the old holes in the spindle are between two slots.

Flew my -3A for the first time today! Very sensitive. Right wing is heavy, hopefully I fixed that. Went up for a round in the pattern and landed. I took the top cowl off to make sure everything was fine. By the time I got it back on and addressed the wing heaviness the winds had picked up beyond...

Options are a truck that picks up dead/wrecked cars. Concern is pulling up the steep tilt bed angle by the gear legs at the motor mount. Might be 600 lbs without wings. 20Ft construction trailer for bobcats and mowers, Again even with ramps, you gotta get it up there. A little uhaul car caddy...

On page 15-04 -5s are called out for the highlighted area but I'm thinking they're a tad too small in length after driving one. I'm thinking -6 is better here. What say y'all? Thanks.

Adjusting the break out force on RV-10 nosewheel (was Mysterious, intermittent yaw in cruise in my RV-10)
[moderator - I didn't think this was that specific to the RV-10 but feel free to move it to the RV-10 group if is more appropriate) I've had a -10 for about 2 years and the ball has always been centered in cruise. I did install the Aerosport Rudder Trim mod about a year ago to maintain tension...

Gotta love the discovery of old, unknown mistakes! I fit and drilled the 721 aft canopy deck to the longerons about a year ago. Since then I've built the fuse and have finally gotten to the point of starting the finish kit. I had decided to leave them unriveted until I was just about ready to...
