What is IO-360 bypass control cable? …-7
Drawing 19, firewall penetration “L” called out as IO-360 bypass control cable. What is it?!
Hole H is vertical induction alternate air cable. I have horizontal induction, so is hole L the alternate air cable for that, instead? If so, why call it bypass control cable?
I’m flummoxed…. I can see mixture, prop, throttle, certainly an alternate air cable for vertical induction, but not one for horizontal induction.

Next time I'll just use .090" LEXAN instead of the hassle of the custom layup.

The world standard for comparative filter test is ISO 4548-12. The 4548-12 test installation circulates a standard fluid (MIL-H-5606, here Aeroshell 4) at 100F and 6 gallons per minute while steadily feeding ISO 12103-1 test dust into the flow. A laser-based device counts particles while determining the size of each particle. The fluid then enters the filter. Downstream, another counter records the number and size of the particles which passed through the filter. For each particle size from 5 through 40 µm (microns), efficiency ratio = 1- (particles out/particles in).
Page 29-20 How in the world do I set this rivet?
I'm riveting the gussets on page 29-20 and I've run into a rivet that has me stumped. I've been staring at this thing for an hour trying to see if any of the tools I have will work. I still can't figure out how to set it. None of my four squeezer yokes will work. None of my bucking bars will fit under there. How in the world did you guys set this rivet?

A few more items to ponder.
1. While the cowl is off, shine a flashlight all around the bottom side of the cylinders/baffles and look on the top for light getting past. There are a few spots that are difficult to seal up.
2. Double check that you have the inner cylinder baffles installed (on the bottom of the cylinder bases).
3. Confirm your baffles have the modification to allow air past the back of #3.
4. Confirm that your mixture control arm is full rich when the cockpit lever is full forward/rich. Some of the quadrants that we use have a limited throw and are a bit short preventing full rich mixture. Many adjust for idle cutoff but then end up lean at the other end.

I just embraced the fact that they're going to lead a hard life and jeweled the bare aluminum with a small scotch bright disc on a 90 degree Dotco. I didn't shoot for any kind of precision job at all, just something other than flat aluminum.
Small rudder cracks near front edge
I’m a new owner of 16 year old RV 7A with a little over 800 hours, and noticed small cracks near the front edge of the rudder. Picture attached. They are only on the right side, and are all near the first rivet. Only one is by a hinge. Is it safe to fly the airplane? Is this typical? Any repair recommendations? Thanks.
Duralast Alternator OEM wiring diagram or pin-out?
I'm trying to figure out how an alternator is wired on an RV-6A. Its a Duralast 14870 internally regulated. I cannot get to the back connector without disassembling and The builder's wiring looks non standard. I haven't found the builder's log yet.
I see the 10ga B lead wire going to the ANL. But, there are 3 wires, a red, green and blue coming off the back connector. The red one goes to alt warning light which is then connected to the battery buss through a 1amp circuit breaker. The green wire disappears in the firewall pass-through (I haven't torn that apart yet and hoping not to). And the blue wire is cleanly cut off (like with a pair of dikes) and left floating and uninsulated about 2" from the connector (there's no corresponding loose wires in the associated bundle).

New RV-4 Owner with Questions
I am a very new owner of my RV-4, and am loving it. I'm up to almost 30 hours in it, and am starting to think about the long run of ownership, including making some modifications/upgrades, and wanted to get some opinions. It's an O-320-B2A FP 160hp engine with a 68" wood sterba cruise prop...

Rudder pedal Paint
Tried searching and went down a rabbit hole. What did you all use to paint the rudder pedals? Rattle can? Enamels? Solely Primer? Just thinking a grey or white that is scuff resistant. Thanks in advance.
