temporary elevator servo repair

turbo

Well Known Member
while i was on ct getting ready to fly south to florida i decided to do a test flight which was a good reason to go flying anyways. well the elevator servo decided to go belly up since the last flight. i was full up trim and i was planning on leaving in the morning. a quick temporary repair was made after finding some 8/32 threaded rod at the local hardware store. after guessing on the length in was up and flying again to fine tune the pitch trim for cruize flight. the next morning when we took of fully loaded the trim was then off enough to have to make a quik stop and give it some more forward trim. i now carry along a piece of threaded rod which for such emergencys. the servo lasted 3,300 hrs though. not bad. $160 later all is well.
