tank attach bracket shims question

Working on page 18-5 of RV-10. Figure 1 shows AN426 rivets for attaching the K1000-08 plate nuts, but the directions do not call for any dimpling or countersinking for these rivets, like they do for the K1100-08 plate nuts. Yes I understand for the screw itself these are different, but what about for the rivets that attached the plate nuts? Is that now part of what is assumed you just do, or am I missing something?

Not so much as assumption as an omission. I remember running into this. Yes, dimple the shim and the rivet ears on the K1000-08.
 
Thanks, in addition to dimpling the shim it looks like the attach bracket should be countersunk, does that seem right.

You know, now that I think about it, I think this is what I did:

Dimple the Shim
Countersink the attach bracket
DON'T dimple the nutplate.

This is the approach I took as the attach bracket was too thick to dimple.
