T/U Canopy Side Rails Spread Any?

TX7A

Well Known Member
I'm tweeking the alignment of the tipup canopy side rails to the fuse side.
Those of you that already have the canopy attached / finished, did the rails spread outboard of the fuse side after it was all said & done, or did the rails pretty much hold their shape.

Thanks,
Sam

The move on you

I completed my Tip-up canopy and the frame/side rails do move on you.

In fact when you attach the Plexiglas to the side rails they move outboard a bit. The gas springs also push the frame around as well.

Get it as close a you can before drilling the Plexiglas and the top skin/side skins and then check it as you proceed with the drilling/riveting/screwing.

Keep in mind that you can still adjust the frame up until the time you attach the Plexiglas permanently.
