Sterba prop arrived

It's a thing of beauty! Heck, even the shipping box is impressive! I am looking forward to seeing it on your airplane.

Back to the future....

Hi GP,
I enjoyed your post as exactly 20 years ago this month I took delivery of my Sterba 69X69 prop for my (then) almost completed RV4. After finishing my RV4 I flew the Sterba with decent performance for 2 years. Some tips for care and feeding when you start flying:

1. Check the bolt torque every 10 hours until you get 50 hours, then every 20 hours.
2. Inspect closely for cracks along the grain after a year of use.

3. Throttle back to 2200 RPM in any visible moisture or you will erode the leading edge significantly.

I was satisfied with the performance until I met Craig Catto....

PS: I sold it and never looked back.
