Starter ring, large or small pulley; re: alternator speed

I have an o360 and are using the Vans Plane Power alternator.

On my old RV6 the alternator would not put out enough power to drive the landing lights (100 watts) when at idle on short final.

Longevity of the alternator would be the advantage when using the small starter ring pulley option, is there enough power at low rpm to drive 100 watt landing lights?

I would take a good look at the entire electrical system, the battery should be able to power the landing lights for the short time your are describing.
