TODR

FAA TO ESTABLISH 30-NM-RADIUS TFR OVER WACO ON MONDAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in the Waco, Texas,
area that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area
for President Bush's departure from his ranch on Monday, August 27.

The FAA has told AOPA that this 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary
flight restriction (TFR) over Waco is a result of multiple violations
of the 6-nm-radius TFR that had been in place in the past. The larger
TFR also stems from security officials' desire to heighten security
in advance of the September 11 anniversary. FAA officials indicated
that this larger TFR over Waco is not expected to be a permanent
characteristic when the President visits his ranch in the future.

The 30-nautical-mile-radius TFR will be centered on the ACT VOR's
089-degree radial at 10.1 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180.
It will be in effect from 10:20 a.m. local until 11:25 a.m. local
on Monday. There will be a smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zone in
effect within the larger TFR. See AOPA Online
for the full text of the notam along with a graphical depiction
( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/4316 ).

The affected landing facilities are Tstc Waco (CNW), Wings for Christ
International Flight Academy (73F), Sheriff Department Heliport (TA04),
Flying Heart Ranch (70TE), Waco Regional (ACT), Square K (40TS),
Tigerbird Field (2TS3), Womack Farm (75TE), Heathrow (TE17), Scott
(31TX), Wildcat Canyon (3T8), McGregor Executive (PWG), Valley Mills
Municipal (9F1), Marlin (T15), Lake Whitney State Park (F50),
Flying Nd Ranch (22TS), Barnstormer (TE99), Hillsboro Municipal (INJ),
Clifton Municipal/Isenhower Field (7F7), and Mexia-Limestone County (LXY).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
