- special 7/8" socket for oil temp sender

The oil temp senders in the 90 degree oil filter adapters are tough to get at. They're 7/8" dia threaded with a pair of wires coming out the center and located on the aft side of the adapter. The wires make it impossible to put a normal socket on it, and many box end wrenches won't fit in the tight space around it. If that copper-crush gasket starts to leak, it can be a vexing problem. (AMHIK) Today I found the solution at Harbor Freight !!! They sell an "oxygen sensor socket" that happens to be 7/8" dia. with a slot cut up one side, allowing the sensor wires to go outside and not interfere the wrench. Even better, right now that oxygen sensor socket is on sale for either $3 or $4 .... what a bargain!!!

Just don't try to actually remove an oxygen sensor with it. That Chinese steel socket will crack every time! Thanks for the tip.
