spar magnet switch

I am doing the production check list. I cannot get the spar pin light to go out.
they've been checked with the meter and were OK. That was some time ago.
Now, the light just stays on. I even added a more powerful magnet to see which pin was not working and they both failed?
Any ideas out there?

Check the continuity of each magnetic reed switch with an ohmmeter. An easy way to tap into a wire is to pierce the insulation with an Exacto knife. Connect the ohmmeter to the knife blade and to ground.
The best way to get a magnetic reed switch to close is hold a bar magnet parallel with the reed switch with one magnet pole at one end of the switch and the other magnet pole at the other end of the switch.
